Best type screw for mounting in drywall
I'll be mounting a SP3004 stainless steel backsplash in the drywall behind my range and QS130SS Allure under-cabinet hood. In earlier Q/A's you specified the use of #8 3/4" screws and anchors, and said it was OK to install the backsplash behind the hood although the hood would not be flush to the back wall due to the thickness of the screw heads. Please be more specific in the type of screw you recommend: I ask because flat head drywall screws typically have beveled undersides to the head. Since the stainless steel will prevent the beveled screw head from setting completely flush against the surface (as it would if screwed directly into the drywall, enabling the bevel to 'countersink' into the softer material), is there another type of flat head screw that you recommend that is also flat on the underside? I want a screw that will hold the backsplash as flat to the drywall surface as possible.
